Hi, I’m Anna Christine. Some people call me A.C., some people call me Anna, and if you want to know my preference, it’s the former.
I am a human who loves feeling deeply, moving freely, and tuning in with what’s happening beneath the surface.
I love to start my days with playing piano, singing, dancing, walking, stretching, and breathing. And yes, I just told you how I like to start my days rather than telling you what I “do” for a living. If I’m not working, I love to spend my days hiking, writing, exploring something new, and soaking up sweet connection time with those I love.
By trade, I’m a therapist who works with complex trauma, crafting spaces for people to connect and move with what’s happening inside rather than feeling moved by emotions or trauma responses that can leave us feeling stuck. Most of my days as a therapist are spent outdoors, walking, standing barefoot in the grass, or sitting under a tree.
Beyond therapy sessions, I love crafting retreat spaces for people (myself included!) to take a deep breath while stepping away from the regular pace of life, mostly because, this is what I’m doing most of my days — exploring what it looks like to move through life in ways that are not dictated by muscle memory that gets us through our days on autopilot. There’s so much more to wake up to and be alive to, and all it takes is a taste of a different pace or a different movement to long for more.
I’m also a neurospicy nerd who loves to research and think deeply, which is why I previously chose to complete two master’s degrees side-by-side and recently decided to move my life across the world to focus on PhD research in the UK. My research explores ancient contemplative practices in conversation with present day mindfulness interventions, getting into the weeds of the anthropology beneath each, considering how therapists might integrate ancient spiritual practices with clinical work today. You’ll also see a book coming out in September 2025 with my name on it, so long as final edits get in on time :) It’s about slowing down, tuning in with the body, and tending to the soul.
Alright… what else might you like to know?
I love cats, matcha lattes, hugs, trees, adventure, colors in the sky, laughter, deep breaths, play, my nieces and nephews, and looking at things from different perspectives. I’ve experienced religious trauma and long to cultivate safe spiritual experiences for people rather than causing more harm. I have complex trauma and I’ve had chronic health issues most of my life. I know what it’s like to not be seen in pain, whether that’s physical, emotional, relational, spiritual, or any otherwise. My hope is that this is a space where you experience even the tiniest glimpse of feeling seen, or at minimum, that it feels like it would be a safe place to be seen and known.
A note about my writing: you’ll notice, my writing here is mostly stream of consciousness. Working on my manuscript and writing for research requires I lean quite a bit on my thinking brain when I write. In this place, I want what I share to come from a gut-level and a soul-level, letting my thinking brain go offline, so I rarely edit what I write, knowing this means the flow and typos are not always pretty. You should also know, if you don’t like split infinitives, the Oxford comma, or prepositions at the end of sentences, this is probably not the place for you. Or maybe it’s just the place to try something new :)
Well, there you go. Not sure if that’s what should be on an “About” page, but that’s what’s here on this “About” page, which probably tells you plenty “About” me.
Thanks for stopping by, would love to have you continue walking with me.
